Rudy Expanded Score

提到Jerry Goldsmith的体育励志类作品，熟悉他的朋友可能第一个想到的是1986年的《Hoosiers》，不过他93年的这部《Rudy》同样是上乘之作，与《Hoosiers》篮球教练故事不同，《Rudy》讲述了喜爱橄榄球的鲁迪创造奇迹的故事。除了作曲，两部电影的导演、编剧也为同一班底，可以说是三人7年后的再度合作。虽然这次的影片并不是那么星光璀璨，但是这无法遮盖JG作品的光芒，JG把人物的心灵旅程和恶劣的体育环境相结合的能力确实是一般人无法企及的。因此，《Rudy》不仅获得了当年的奥斯卡最佳配乐奖提名，也一度成了美国橄榄球大联盟的标志配乐。如果单纯的说励志性交响配乐作品，能与《Rudy》相媲美的确实不多了。



很多评论认为JG的《Rudy》配乐过于简单，只是单纯无聊的重复，枯燥乏味。诚然，这部作品无非是两段主旋律的交替变换，几乎每首曲目都能找到这两段旋律的踪影，然尔细细品味后你就会发现其中的奥妙。二段旋律都很精彩，相比之下不分伯仲。第一段主旋律较柔和煽情，表现了Rudy奋斗旅程的部分。最先在"Main Titles"中出现，此处也比较清晰，在"End Titles"也可以听到，这段旋律的高潮在"The Final Game"的后半部，使用了大量美妙的木管乐器演奏，同时配合了人声的合唱（"End Titles"中也有），合唱的部分比较轻飘，不用心听的话，很容易没有注意到，这种美妙的配合一直到作品最后。第二段旋律则更为欢快激昂，而且变化性更大，也是《Rudy》中最吸引人最容易被记住的部分。好比在《Hoosiers》中JG同样用了这样的第二段主旋律表现篮球场上的激烈一样，这里同样用来保持作品一定的紧张度，而且往往是Rudy靠近梦想的时候。比如"A Start"，这里旋律还比较弱，然后是"Waiting"，旋律明显清晰了许多，跳跃欢快的木管乐器带出小号独奏，并且完善了旋律的后半部分。到了"Tryouts"和"Back on the Field"中，加入了低沉的定音鼓和手鼓，并且开始弦乐和铜管乐器的交替性激昂的演奏，十分有力。最后，到了赛季的最后一场比赛，也就是"Take Us Out"和"The Final Game"中，第二段旋律的高潮出现了， 加入了行军鼓点并且明显加快了节奏，使得整体感觉更为激励澎湃。这部分的配乐可以说完美表现了竞技体育的那种竞争精神和激烈程度，个人认为是JG后期作品中亮点，这种对乐曲对作品对更深一层次东西的发掘和体现正是他多年配乐生涯的累积。第二段旋律这种逐渐步出的的感觉仿佛Rudy一步一步接近梦想一般，十分耐人寻味。在"The Final Game"中，两段旋律终于合二为一，达到完美的和谐统一，当精彩的演出到最后时，观众不由自主地会起立热烈的鼓掌，我想这就是我听到这里的心情吧，其带给影片的效果是不可估量的。到此，对于那些对《Rudy》反对的声音，各位朋友用自己的耳朵和心灵去辨别吧。



JG为《Rudy》所作的配乐，被认为是反映美国橄榄球的影视作品中最精彩的一部，从大学联盟到全美大联盟比赛都反复使用这部作品。2006年John Williams为NBC的一档体育节目"Sunday Night Football"谱写过片头曲（我之前有发布过），他所使用的小号对野蛮无畏的橄榄球运动就略显的不那么合适了。相信大家听完"Take Us Out"之后再作比较就会同意我的观点。也许《Rudy》无法撼动《Hoosiers》体育电影配乐的宝座，但是他仍然是有史以来最出色的体育电影配乐之一。
