有这样大手笔的制作，配乐方面自然马虎不得。以致命武器、X战警等配乐著称的奥斯卡最佳配乐大师Michael Kamen(麦可卡门)，此次为这张电视影集原声带，谱写出多首令人动容的佳作。虽然这是一部描写战争的影集，但是在音乐的呈现上，却跳脱出单纯制造紧张情绪及肃杀气氛的狭隘音乐内涵，辅以唯美的合声与弦乐声墙，带出战场中难能可贵的人性与感情，时而激昂，时而沉吟，牵动着乐迷与观众的情绪。



继《拯救大兵雷恩》后，好莱坞大导演斯皮尔伯格与两届奥斯卡影帝汤姆·汉克斯再度合作，推出有史以来造价最昂贵的电视连续剧《兄弟连》(Band of Brothers)。这个由二战期间美军在欧洲大陆作战的真人真事改编而成的故事，总计拍摄成本高达1亿2000万美元。



在1998年为电影《拯救大兵瑞恩》宣传期间，男主角汤姆·汉克斯曾收到一名参加过二战的老兵亲手赠送的一本小说《战火兄弟连》。读完之后深受感动的汤姆·汉克斯后来把这部小说转赠给斯皮尔伯格，后者则后悔“没有早点看到这本书”，因此两人决定将其拍成电视剧。



经过八个月的拍摄，其中动用了五百个有台词的演员、一万个临时演员，由八个导演共同完成，这部长达10个小时、耗资1．2亿美元的“史上最贵”电视剧集终于诞生，并于2001年10月27日在ＨＢＯ独家首映。
