这是部虚构美国七十年代传奇歌手Dewey Cox的一生。许多由没没无闻到一飞冲天的小歌手，常常会被眼前的名利冲昏头，Dewey就是一位典型无法把持的众多示范之一小角，他的人生过尽靡烂与奢华，有酒精、音乐、女人、毒品，同拥个人专属节目，甚至与猫王、披头四成为好友。好运总是无法长久延续，就在事业遇到瓶颈开始走下坡，获得真爱救赎并努力重新出发，终于坐上一代巨星的王位。其中男主角John C. Reilly的精湛演技，获得第65届金球奖「最佳喜剧类男主角」提名。

　　

请到Orange County /橘郡男孩原声带、Jason Mraz、Brendan Benson等人专辑录制的Michael Andrews全权掌控。歌手/词曲创作Dan Bern与美国流行摇滚乐团Candy Butchers的灵魂要角Mike Viola连手撰写大部分歌曲，共录制40首作品，33首出现在电影里头，最后精选收录15支单曲于原声带之中。全部皆由John C. Reilly演唱，主打歌“Walk Hard“，以念唱方式表现，架构在乡村摇摆音韵中，很有大师Johnny Cash的味道，却同沾染着迷幻之色泽，入围金球奖「最佳原创歌曲」；加强Doo-wop合声的甜蜜小品“Take My Hand“，营造出如猫王的浪漫形象；散发拉丁热情音符的“Guilty As Charged“，融入属于蓝调摇滚的外放性格之气息；打造Disco Funk鼓动节拍的“Starman“，则是翻唱摇滚变色龙David Bowie于1972年缔造的经典。藉由原声带的动听曲目，带领乐迷重游属于70年代音乐的感动。
