游戏以现代战争为背景。俄罗斯从中国手中夺取了附有大量天然资源与石油的”库页岛”，美国最后也被逼迫参加战局，添加了这场”库页岛大战”!!

与上一代作品最大不同在于”库页岛”是真实的地方，开发小组针对库页岛的真实状况，包含了道路，建筑，地形等..做了完整的真实呈现!
