来自英国的与MDB、PL同名的三大DEATH DOOM乐队之一。

Anathema是最杰出的厄运/歌特乐队之一，是给英国金属界带来了巨大风暴的一种真实的音乐现象，并且创立了其他乐队追随和模仿的唯一音乐形式。来自利物浦的Anathema由Vinnie和Cavanagh, Danny，Jimmie（他们三个是亲兄弟）创立。

1990年，他们发行了他们第一张DEMO“An Iliad of Woes”，虽然当时录音设备很差，但还是展现出他们优秀的才华。

1991 年，乐队发行了他们的第二张DEMO“All Faith is Lost”和第一张正式专集“They Die”.这两张唱片吸引了以拥有大量创新独特乐队闻名的Peaceville的目光。1992年，Anathema发行了经典E.P“The Crestfallen”。不容质疑的，他们一年之后发行的首张专集“Serenades”取得了很大的成功。

缓慢击打的厄运氛围歌曲和内省的歌词直接激发听者的黑暗灵魂。“Serenades”是他们对新的音乐形式的探索，是一件纯粹的音乐艺术品。1995年，他们又发行了MINI唱片“Pentecost III”。
