2007年的跨厂牌双CD精选大碟【Complete Clapton】收藏了艾力克莱普顿从1966年到2006年这40年间的摇滚力作，见识吉他之神穿透摇滚世代的不凡功力，从奶油乐团招牌名曲'I Feel Free'、'Sunshine Of Your Love'到盲目信仰乐团时期的摇滚经典'Presence Of The Lord'，从最动人的抒情摇滚金曲'Layla'、'Wonderful Tonight'到赢得葛莱美奖满堂彩的肺腑之作'Tears In Heaven'、'Change The World'、'My Father’s Eyes'，从雷鬼之父巴布马利的'I Shot The Sheriff'到巴布狄伦的'Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door'，从电影「金钱本色」主题曲'Lay Down Sally'到电影「军火之王」插曲'Cocaine'，每一首都是经典中的经典。



超过40年的摇滚历练，艾力克莱普顿赢得了18座葛莱美奖的喝采，他是史上唯一以3个乐团或歌手的身份入列「摇滚名人殿堂」的摇滚歌手，他在1960年代初期就与日后的吉他英雄Jimmy Page/吉米佩吉、日后变成齐柏林飞船乐团的大将、Jeff Beck/杰夫贝克在The Yardbirds乐团中过招，随后转进汇集了蓝调摇滚豪杰的超级乐团John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers，然后再接连组成Cream/奶油乐团、Blind Faith/盲目信仰乐团等超级摇滚天团，还穿梭於披头四、滚石合唱团、巴布狄伦、吉米罕醉克斯的专辑录音或是现场演出。自1970年代起，艾力克莱普顿开始独闯高手如云的摇滚丛林，陆续以'Layla'、'I Shot The Sheriff'、'Lay Down Sally'、'Wonderful Tonight'等畅销单曲扬威乐坛。进入90年代后，他走过吸毒的幽谷，还有丧子的阴霾，以'Tears In Heaven'、'Change The World'两度拿下葛莱美3项大奖，还以不插电演唱专辑『Unplugged』狂销千万张。跨越21世纪后，仍藉由与蓝调国宝B.B.
