Brave New World

Dickson Is Back! Smith Is Back Too!千禧之年，铁女两大猛将同时回归，一扫90年代阴霾，Iron Maiden全面复活！在2000年首次以六人阵容发行了他们的第12张录音室专辑《Brave New World》，歌迷们重新看到了Iron Maiden振兴的希望。此后，Iron Maiden再次投入到了大规模的巡演当中，乐队的世界巡演场场爆满。



Bruce Dickson的嗓音依旧如鹰般高飞，Steve的Bass越发老辣，Nicko的单脚鼓快的让人不可思议，标志性的双吉他等等，现在他们有3把吉他了Adrian Smith，Dave Murray和Janick Gers！从此，有人将他们称作重金属的“吉他军团”！

首先封面就有一副Return Of The Beast的味道。当时主要有三点担忧，一是Bruce Dickson的嗓子怎么样，二是3吉他到底能有多大杀伤力，三是乐队风格是否真的回归80年代。事实证明Iron Maiden带给我们的是最纯粹的Maiden式的重金属和更多的惊喜！

第一首Wicker Man就是一首经典的快歌！疾风骤雨般吉他Riff开头，失真效果是非常典型的Maiden，听得出制作相当好。Bruce的嗓子虽然比不了年轻时的血气方刚，但唱了将近20年了，明显注意了技巧运用，反而更有韵味了。3吉他的效果在这里初露端倪，不过还不明显。从Clive到Nicko都一直用的单脚鼓，但是Nicko的快脚竟然能让你有双踏的感觉，实在令人佩服！

第二首Ghost Of The Navigator的开头实在是美妙之极！一把吉他主音，另一把渲染，加上Bass慢板的开头，旋律非常优美，第三把吉他也偷偷摸摸进来，速度渐渐加快加入了鼓，然后是脚鼓，节奏越来越急促，最后就是风驰电掣的Riff，3吉他的威力在这首歌尽显无遗。

第三首标题曲Brave New World速度不快但是气势不凡。有段1分多种的教科书般的3吉他表演，爽！

第四首Blood Brothers和第六首Dream of Mirrors又表达了Iron Maiden一贯的迷惘。在Blood Brothers里他们问：“Will we ever know what the answer to life really is?Can you really tell me what life is?”在Dream of Mirrors里，他们问：“Am I still inside my dream? Is this a new reality”整首歌9分多钟。

第八首the Nomad。Iron Maiden实在对阿拉伯素材有着偏执的喜爱，甚至有点走火入魔了，而我们也跟着欲罢不能！在歌词里，他们对游牧民族描述的无比神秘，音乐上不像以前只是一小段借用中东民族音乐的旋律，而是整篇都是中东风格，包括Riff,Solo甚至唱腔！但是，Iron Maiden就是有本事把所有的东西都演绎的金属味道十足，而且让你一点也不感觉别扭。这无疑是整张专辑最精彩的一首歌！
