Silver Rain

1959年出生的马克思米勒，自七零年代纵横乐坛，至今四十馀载，乐风横跨爵士、节奏蓝调、放克到摇滚，无一不精纯熟练，这位名满天下神乎其技的贝斯乐手，同时身兼作曲/编曲/製作等多重身分，让他位于世界乐坛的顶端，相继为大牌乐手如迈尔士戴维士、大卫山朋等人製作专辑。2002年的专辑M2获得葛莱美奖最佳现代爵士专辑的殊荣。



马克思米勒的第6张专辑＜银雨＞，受到Langston Hughes的诗作 “In Time of Silver Rain”的心灵启发，新作呈现融合、跨界的概念上有更深层的诠释，将放克、古典、爵士、蓝调、雷鬼、电子、世界音乐等不同元素揉合而共治一炉结合音乐洗涤人心的概念。深厚的爵士底韵铺陈着丰富多元的融合色彩，创意技巧上乘而跳脱老爵士的巢臼。



除全新创作之外，马克思以其独到的jazz-funk手法翻玩从Stevie Wonder、Edgar Winter、Duke Ellington、Prince、Jimi Hendrix到贝多芬等乐坛巨星的作品，邀得Eric Clapton、Macy Gray、Gerald Alright等星光熠熠的明星乐手跨刀助阵，创作演译一首首让听者如沐春风的新型态smooth爵士音乐。为纪念李小龙而来的道地funk爵士佳作Bruce Lee，深具巴黎风味的抒情小品La Villette，透过女伶Lalah Hathaway醇美嗓音，轻盈而写意；以放克爵士技巧与隐约唱片刮碟效果翻玩之70年代摇滚经典Frankenstein听来更是别有风味；贝多芬名作Moonlight Sonata在funk bass演译之下，一股澹澹moody情怀油然而生，最令人惊喜的是由吉他之神Eric Clapton所弹奏演唱的雷鬼蓝调作品Silver Rain 与雷鬼宗师巴布马利相较有过之而无不及；而马克思更与客席女伶Lalah Hathaway演唱一首It’ll Come Back to You，展现在贝司弹奏之外的非凡才华。喜爱Bass Guitar的乐迷，别错过这张已俨然是当代fusion jazz的新典范。
