Highland Cathedral

苏格兰皇家龙卫队风笛鼓乐队最早源于一支小小的风笛乐队, 1946年由苏格兰陆军某装甲部队复员军人组成并来到苏格兰灰骑兵部队。 乐手们是灰骑兵部队第一批正规的风笛手，在此之前，灰骑兵部队只有一些小规模非官方的乐队，那还是19世纪20年代，曾有一支驻扎在印度能骑马演奏的乐队。

国王乔治六世对这支风笛鼓乐队的到来非常感兴趣， 给予他们身着皇家斯图亚特格子呢的特权, 并亲自设计乐队的制服，就是您现在看到的这张大鼓鼓手身着醒目的插着红羽毛的白色熊皮的照片。

关于白熊皮，则是源于1894年，俄国沙皇尼古拉二世被授为苏格兰皇家灰骑兵名誉团长，为此他向灰骑兵部队赠送了白熊皮。

现在，苏格兰皇家龙卫队风笛鼓乐队的风笛手和鼓手身兼坦克兵和音乐家二职，为国效力。
