소울컴퍼니의 마지막 조각, “THE BEST”

지난 9월 충격적인 해체선언을 한 언더그라운드 힙합레이블 소울컴퍼니가, 8년간의 흔적을 모은 베스트앨범 “THE BEST”를 11월 22일 발표한다.

2004년 10여명의 젊은 힙합아티스트들에 의해 출범한 소울컴퍼니는, 지난 8년간 총 24명의 아티스트를 배출하였으며, 77개의 타이틀을 발표하였고, 60회의 자체 공연을 개최하는 등 한국 언더그라운드 힙합씬의 중추적인 역할을 수행해왔다.

이번에 발표되는 앨범 “THE BEST”는, 그 동안 소울컴퍼니를 통해 발표된 모든 정규/비정규/싱글 앨범의 수록곡 중 가장 작품성이 높은 33트랙을 2CD에 선별하여 담았다. '코끼리 공장의 해피엔드', 'Be My Luv'등 소울컴퍼니 특유의 독특한 주제의식과 공감대로 많은 인기를 얻었던 곡들과, 'Imagine That', 'Strike The Gold' 등 재조명이 필요한 트랙, 그리고 '아에이오우 어?! pt.2', 'Still A Team' 등 디지털 싱글로만 발표되었던 음원들이 모두 리마스터되어 수록된다.

이번 앨범의 아트웍은 [Official Bootleg Vol.2], [Q Train], '그날이 오면 (Single)' 등 소울컴퍼니와 오랫동안 공동작업을 진행한 경험이 있는 한국 최고의 그래피티 아티스트 JNJ CREW가 맡았다.

소울컴퍼니의 마지막 조각, “THE BEST”는, 그 동안 소울컴퍼니와 한국힙합을 사랑해준 모든 팬들에게 바치는 소울컴퍼니의 마지막 선물이 될 것이다.
