Dan Gibson

Dan Gibson（丹·吉布森），1922年1月19日生于加拿大，蒙特利尔，是世界上最著名的自然录音大师。从小生长尼加拉瀑布附近的农庄里的Dan Gibson，十几岁的时候就开始用影像记录周围的自然景观。1946年他成立Dan Gibson制作公司，专门从事自然影像的拍摄。
那时候Dan Gibson的公司，就以擅长捕捉自然界的声音而著名，他们制作的自然电影，音画同步，在那时可是一个创举。进入80年代他更是发明了丹·吉布森抛物线定点收音麦克风（Dan Gibson Parabolic Microphone），以便更清晰的捕获自然界中独特的声响。
于是，1983年，以 Dan Gibson至爱的歌曲，艾灵顿公爵 的In My Solitude（我的孤独）命名，专注于自然声响的Solitudes公司成立了。这之后，Dan Gibson的南征北伐，Solitudes公司诞生了无数自然音乐经典，那些采集自人迹罕至的海角天涯的自然声响，配上Ron Allen、Howard Baer、Claude Desjardins等音乐人空灵舒缓的音乐，带着我们回到那个纯净的古老的地球。
社会越来越快，我们无时不被压力与焦虑所包围，我们如何能拥有宁静的片刻？几十年来，这个老人的努力和执着，用自然之声带来心灵的慰籍。而他也因为常年穿梭于丛林于荒漠导致膝盖致残，1994年，72岁的Dan Gibson成为“加拿大杰出公民”，他拄着柺杖出现在人们面前，那些美好的音乐对比艰辛的旅程，让人感慨无比。
2004年Dan Gibson推出了自己的第一张DVD，名叫《Natural Beauty》。
2006年3月18日，Dan Gibson与世长辞。
