Colby O'Doniscolby o'donis 于1989年3月14日生于美国纽约，有着波多黎各血统。在colby 3岁的时候，父母发现了他的音乐才能，当时colby正在才艺表演上演唱michael jackson的一首歌曲，那个时候他也经常在他父亲的跳蚤市场里表演，但仅仅是为了取乐。成名之前曾为诸多知名艺人暖场包括：JoJo, B-5, Backstreet Boys,Brian McKnight, 98°和N'Sync.后来更是参加了大牌中的大牌演出。
音乐生涯
　　9岁的时候colby的父母搬到佛罗里达州，在那里colby开始尝试着跟制作人兼歌手Full Force合作。 colby最初开始变的有名气是在他10岁的时候，那时他成为了与魔城唱片签约并为一电影配乐的最年轻的音乐录音艺术家。后来他开始在Johan Oiested指导下学习吉他课程，11岁的时候，他开始作为演员频繁的出现在Grandpa's Garage电视剧里，14岁时，他开始为为众多明星JoJo, B-5, Backstreet Boys, Brian McKnight, 98° and 'N Sync等进行开场表演。在colby15岁生日过不久，其父母决定搬到洛杉矶并开始利用colby的歌曲来宣传他。在那个时候colby被介绍给Genuine Music 组合，与之合作开始准备从自己写的歌和同Damon Sharpe，Gregg Pagani ，Brion James，Justin Timberlake写的歌曲里来筹备自己的唱片，他也曾经在micheal jackson的音乐工作室里与michael合作，并发表的一首单曲Your Love in My Life。在这段时期内，他继续在加州表演，为Keyshia Cole, 112, Montell Jordan, Daddy Yankee, Omarion, Don Omar, Akon, Rihanna, Bobby Valentino, Ne-Yo and Lil Wayne 等作开场表演。
　　在接下来的两年中，colby不断的加强他的舞蹈功底和台上表演的能力，并学习钢琴，曾一度考虑与Babyface合作，直到与Akon相见，改变了colby的音乐表演生涯，2006当Akon听了Colby的音乐样本时，马上就与即将17岁的colby签约。
　　当时colby说：我们之间的化学反应是相当的强烈，当Akon对我说，我们马上就要进行一场伟大的事业，我们的名称就是Konvict Muzik， 我们将会与Interscope 唱片合作， 你会是我们这个伟大的事业的重要角色。接下来我们就要同甘共苦，为这个事业奋斗努力，我们不会失败。
　　colby与Akon合作的第一首单曲what you got发表与2008年2月26日， 在2008年4月时他又与同是Kon Live旗下的新兴歌手lady gaga合作一首劲爆无比的just dance。colby第二只单曲Don't Turn Back发表于6月24日，而colby第一张正式的专辑Colby O 发表于同年9月16 日。他也在Akon2008年发表的新专辑freedom中主打歌曲beautiful里有表演。2008年 12月4日，colby因为在lady gaga justdance里面的表演. 得到了格莱美最佳舞曲的提名。
　　只有19岁的小才子，年纪轻轻就已经成为Hip-Hop天皇Akon的秘密武器了，可以看出Akon有多么重视他。
　　从排行榜的位置来看。大家对What You Got反应不错。Akon演唱的部分很少　Colby O’Donis开始为Rihanna，Omarion，Keisha Cole, 112, Montel Jordan, Daddy Yankee, Bad Boys, B-5, Don Omar, Akon, Bobby Valentino , Ne-Yo等艺人演出做开场表演。并且和akon的公司签下了6张录音室专辑的合约，在接下来的几个月里，他还将会跟随akon去欧洲巡演。
Already an entertainment business veteran by the age of 18, singer, guitarist, pianist, songwriter, dancer, and actor Colby O'Donis seems to approach the whole world as a stage. Born in Queens, New York City, to Puerto Rican parents, O'Donis was reportedly singing before he could talk. After his family moved to Florida when he was eight, he learned to play guitar, and by the time he was nine he was already working with the production and songwriting team Full Force and had a song, "Mouse in the House," included on the soundtrack to the movie Stuart Little. At 11 he was appearing regularly as an actor in the TV series Grandpa's Garage. At 14 he was opening local Florida shows for the likes of the Backstreet Boys, Brian McKnight, and 98°. At the age of 15 he relocated to Los Angeles, where he worked with Michael Jackson in Jackson's studio, releasing the single "Your Love in My Life" from the sessions. Eventually O'Donis signed with Akon's Konvict Muzic label, an imprint of Interscope, and released the infectious single "What You Got" in January of 2008.
