Ladyhawke

Ladyhawke 本名Pip Brown，11岁开始打鼓，14岁自学吉他,贝斯,键盘，并且开始跟随姐姐和爸爸到处表演 8岁毕业之后搬到了Wellington,NZ，和朋友组了个叫Two Lane Blacktop(2001)的乐团，乐团当时在纽西兰和澳洲算是相当成功，并且常在两地飞往做巡回演出，Two Lane Blacktop甚至去了美国做了几场巡回，在LadyHawkee官网自传说他们甚至曾经，去过纽约的CBGB表演过。
　　CBGB 是个美国早期地下乐摇滚庞克乐团，常常去表演的一个酒吧，过去像是70s,80s的Ramones，Misfits，the Patti Smith Group，Mink Deville,The Dead Boys，The Dictators，The Fleshtones,Richard Hell & The Voidoids，Blondie，都曾经在那边表演过，是一个很有历史意义和地位的一个酒吧，可惜在2006因为地产问题倒闭，过去的CBGB所在地已看不到酒吧的存在，而老板之后也在2007年也因肺癌过世 ，LadyHawke说那时站在曾经许多过去伟大乐团，同一个舞台表演感受真的很棒。
　　2003,Two Lane Blacktop 准备飞去澳洲，跟美国Modey Lemon一起巡回的两天前，乐团的主唱突然宣布退出乐团，而鼓手随后也马上宣布退出，之后不久乐团正式解散，觉得莫名其妙的他因为机票还在，带着行李箱和吉他一个人飞到了莫尔本.....
　　来到澳洲不久后再度被雪梨来的Nick Littlemore找上，Nick Littlemore 当时，也是澳洲一个著名电音/舞曲音乐团体 PNAU 的一员，Pip Brown加入他的乐团 teenager，在乐团中担任领衔吉他和和声，Pip Brown说他喜欢他们的音乐 。
　　Ladyhawke则是Pip Brown在2005自组的乐团，这样她能够完全自由的做自己想做的音乐，70,80年代的音乐对于Pip Brown的影响很大，Pip Brown她说她喜欢那个年代,所创造出一种喜哀合并，融合大量合成器还有即兴重复拍的音乐，而流行文化包括音乐,电影,任何东西，对她也是重要灵感来源，她想要创造一种让人就算第一次听，也能够脸上出现笑容想起自己过去一段记忆点的音乐 。
Soon after New Zealand band Two Lane Blacktop (named after the Monte Hellman movie) broke up in 2003, guitarist/vocalist Pip Brown moved to Australia. While living in Sydney she worked with several bands, including Teenager and Pnau. By 2006 she had begun creating songs on her own, playing all of the instruments, under the name Ladyhawke (named after the Richard Donner movie). She relocated once more at the end of 2007, this time to London, where she recorded her debut album for Modular, working with several different producers. The sound was strongly '80s-influenced, leaning heavily on the synth. The first single, "Back of the Van," was produced by Michael Di Francesco from Sydney band Van She, who also produced the "Van She Tech Turbo Fire Engine Mix" of the song.
