Star Fucking Hipsters is a ska-punk/crust punk/Indie band that was started by Leftöver Crack's vocalist Stza and drummer Brandon as a side project. Unfortunately, Brandon passed away before the band was fully formed. However, Stza continued and the band played their first shows in the Summer of 2005.
The line-up originally included vocalist Kisston from "Help Me Help Me I Can't Breathe", guitarist Jamie Toulan from Old Skull, and drummer GiGi from "Another Dying Democracy".The band started playing shows in the New York City area early in August 2005. This line-up lasted for two shows before they disbanded. The next year, mainly to put a few songs together for the LOC/Citizen Fish split release "Deadline", Sturg met up with LOC/Slackers drummer Ara Babajian & Degenerics/Ensign guitar prodigy Frank Piegaro & wrote/practiced 7 songs. 3 of these ended up on the Citizen Fish/LOC split, leaving the remaining 4 as the basis for the first SFH record "Until We're Dead.". Stza then enlisted a whole new group of musicians, again calling themselves Star Fucking Hipsters. The band now consists of Stza, Frank Piegaro (Degenerics), Nico de Gaillo (Casa De Chihuahua), Chris (Big Attack/Planned Collapse) and P-Nut (Degenerics/Ensign).
Their debut album was released by Fat Wreck Chords on September 30, 2008, entitled "Until We're Dead", though it was originally to be titled "Allergic To People".. On December 23, 2008, the band released a music video for "Two Cups of Tea".
The band's second album, "Never Rest In Peace", was released on October 20, 2009 by Alternative Tentacles. There are also plans to produce a video for the song "3000 Miles Away" in November 2009.
The band also plan to release new material on Fat Wreck Chords by the end of 2009, which may include a collaboration with influential N.Y.C. Ska band The Slackers
