电影的故事剧情接续电影《熊的传说》，故事重心在主角 Kenai 於冰河时代末期前往海岸的一段旅途，自从他变成熊之后，还是时常在梦中回顾起之前当人类的种种生活，在这趟旅程中，他的一位儿时玩伴 Nita 与他同行，Nita 是印地安部落中长老的女儿，和 Kenai 从小就是青梅竹马的玩伴，如今却因为 Kenai 变成熊了，两人之间的相处出现了颇大的问题…
