Cat Power原名是Chan Marshall  　　她以独立创作的哀伤女歌手和偶尔脱序的现场演出者的身份而出名  　　  　　她有一副如丝绒般慵懒的嗓音,失望、忧伤一点点从她的音乐中渗透出来  　　Cat Power的音乐含蓄而有味道,适合像喝一杯好茶一般慢慢品味  　　初听时也许并不会被这表面平实的歌声所打动,但是经过细细品味提炼过后的Cat Power将是你绝佳的心灵良药  　　  　　至于她偶尔脱序的演出,则与她一度沉溺于酒精有关  　　舞台让她无法适从,她无法控制舞台上的自己,现场演出对她来说变成了一种莫大的折磨  　　以至于在这张专辑出炉之前的一年时光,Chan Marshall是在精神疗养院里度过的  　　  　　还好Chan Marshall走出了抑郁,从崩溃边缘回到了现实,并为我们带来了这张全新的翻唱专辑  　　在此之前,Chan Marshall还受到王家卫的邀请,在《蓝莓之夜》中扮演了Jude Law前妻这一角色
